Frankie Curtis, a.k.a. curtiscreationz, is a London based 'doodle' artist with an overactive imagination. Inspired to draw from a childhood of watching cartoons she has since developed a distinctive style and created artwork globally. Her work is an explosion of crazy characters with a hint of humour sprinkled throughout. She paints large scale murals, canvases and original artworks, as well as animation, digital art and clothing customisation - there are no limits!

How did you get your start as an artist?

I have been obsessed with drawing my entire life, developing my ‘doodle’ style in high school. I then studied illustration and struggled finding work. After several years I managed to finally quit my job and get into art full time! Now I have worked with loads of amazing clients, travelling and creating art in lots of different forms.

What is your favourite medium and why?

Pens - I love doodling with them on anything I can. From murals, to vehicles, clothing and more.

How do you begin your work? Do you have a set method or does your technique vary from piece to piece?

I use the same style. Usually I begin with the eyes of my characters but as the piece develops I just begin creating shapes and turning them into things.

When / where do you feel the most inspired?

In an art studio is where I most love to create, my next goal is to earn enough money to get my own home studio. I also enjoy taking part in live events and street art festivals, getting inspired by other creatives.

What were you most inspired by about the Teletubbies?

As a child, my inspiration to draw came from characters I watched on TV and video games. Copying iconic characters like the Teletubbies helped me develop and learn how to create my own. All children love to draw, sadly they stop as they get older but I never did!

What’s your favourite time of day?

The morning, a new day full of possibilities is exciting.

.

What’s a cause that’s important to you?

Chasing dreams and staying creative no matter the age. I like to try and inspire others to do what I have done.

Your favourite city?

My hometown, London. It’s full of exciting opportunities, creativity and there is something for anyone - it’s a huge and diverse city!

Tubby Toast or Tubby Custard?

Tubby Toast

Your favourite colour?

Blue - like the sky on a sunny day, or the ocean.

If you were not an artist, what would you be doing?

I would love to be a scuba diver.
